After a positive series of  shows in Italy, the italian blackened hardcore band LAMANTIDE leaves on tour across Europe to promote its new album “Carnis Tempora: Abyssus”.
Biella-based band “O” (known as well as Circular Sign) will join them, bringing their newest release “Pietra”.
This expedition and its load of heavy distortions and dark atmospheres will kick off 2016 with some shows in Austria, Germany, France and Switzerland, leaving from Padova, with a gig at Marzolo Occupata.

Epidemic Records is proud to take part in this beautiful release: Lamantide’s “Carnis Tempora: Abyssus”.
Lamantide is an Italian band, born at the end of 2009. They played many shows around Italy and Europe in these years.
Now they are releasing this concept 12″, which, as they state, “[…]is inspired by an interest in the alchemical science and curiosity towards the studies conducted about it by the Swiss psychoanalyst C.G. Jung, who has placed them at the foundation of his theory.”
Lyrics, music and artwork work together to express the thoughts behind Lamantide’s work at their best.

The vinyl, which comes in transparent wax, has been recorded and mixed at Raptor Studio in Vicenza (Italy) and mastered at Audiosiege (Portland, USA) by Brad Boatright. Gozer Visions is the hand behind the artwork.

The vinyl will be officially released on October 26th 2015 and will be available through our upcoming E-store real soon.

I Lamantide sono una band italiana, nata alla fine del 2009. Hanno suonato molti volte in Italia ed in Europa nel corso degli anni.
Ora stanno pubblicando questo concept 12″, il quale, come essi stessi dichiarano, “[…] è stato ispirato dall’interesse per la scienza alchemica e dalla curiosità verso gli studi condotti a riguardo dello psicanalista svizzero C.G. Jung, che li ha posti a fondamento della sua teoria.”
I testi, la musica e l’artwork lavorano in sinergia per esprimere al meglio le idee che si celano dietro questo lavoro dei Lamantide.

IRON, Midnight Raids 7” to be released in July through Epidemic Records (and other labels)!

IRON from Malmö, Sweden, are teaming up with Epidemic Records and other labels to release a new EP called “Midnight Raids”.

For those who are not familiar with this band yet, they play fast, pissed off hardcore punk and identify themselves as a vegan, straight edge, sex positive, queer and vehemently anti-capitalist band.

This new 7” vinyl will feature five songs of rage and passion, spanning over themes such as direct action/animal liberation, sexual freedom and drug free living for the revolution.

The third work by Iron has been recorded by Hannes Heed in April 2015 and mastered by GG at All In Audio.

It will be released in collaboration with Epidemic Records (Italy), Assault Records (Germany), Lösa Boliner (Sweden), The Underground Fraction (Sweden), Angry Music (Denmark), Mosh Potatoes (Belgium) and Monument Recordings (Sweden).

The band is touring Europe again in the summer, along with the Umeå based band HDÄ.

They are also playing the well known hardcore punk festival Fluff Fest in Rokycany, Czech Republic, one of the most awaited happenings in the European hardcore community.

Last but not least, Epidemic Records celebrates this new release and this collaboration with Iron unveiling its brand new logo, which will appear for the first time on Midnight Raids 7”.

IRON, Midnight Raids 7” uscirà a luglio per Epidemic Records (e altre etichette)!

Gli IRON da Malmö, Svezia, uniscono le forze con Epidemic Records e altre etichette per pubblicare un nuovo EP chiamato “Midnight Raids”.

Per coloro che ancora non hanno familiarità con questa band, gli Iron suonano un hardcore punk veloce e furioso e si identificano come una band “vegan, straight edge, sex positive, queer e fortemente anti capitalista”.

EPIDEMIC RECORDS – NEW LOGO!

After about 10 years, I finally decided I really needed a new, cool logo for Epidemic Records.
I was a teenage punk when I draw the old Epidemic Records logo on my computer. It seems, it was, ages ago. I didn’t know much about graphics and definitely not thinking that it would have stuck for so many years.

The old skeleton has shed his skin and it now comes back again in this new logo, created by my friend Matteo Collina at CM Graphics (https://www.facebook.com/collismindgraphics) . He did a great job and got to put together all my ideas in this super badass logo.

I remember I was probably around 16-17 years old when I first had the idea to do something to release, promote and distribute my music as well as my friends’. I actually didn’t know how it worked and how to do it, but I knew that worked this way: people in punk rock help each other.
That was enough for me to start.

But it took me a while. The first time the Epidemic Records logo appeared it was on the very first Smashrooms DIY album, a CD called “The Right And The Wrong”, recorded in 2004. I was 19 years old. We were so young and naive, but that CD helped me establish some links and friendships that still last after all these years.

Since then, Epidemic Records logo has appeared on 25 records released by bands from Italy, USA, Germany, Finland, Austria and Sweden. Some of these albums made me incredibly proud and pushed me to keep going.

What comes next, along with this new logo, is a new challenge I’m facing with the usual enthusiasm.
We’re working on a new website, with a brand e-store and distribution. It’s taking a while, it’s quite a lot of work, but I’m sure it will be great. The goal is to make it bigger and bigger.

Despite this delay, Epidemic Records is more alive than ever.
Vengeance Today “Rest In Piss” 7” has finally got out of the plant and it’s on its way to Italy.
Plus, I’m stoked to announce a new release and a new addition to the family tomorrow.

Big plans are in the making and ideas are flowing.

Epidemic Records is stoked to announce the addition of the german straight edge band VENGEANCE TODAY to its family!

Vengeance Today, hailing from Dresden / Chemnitz area is releasing a new EP called ‘Rest In Piss’ and Epidemic Records is taking care of it, along with the partners in crime in Anchored Records, Beyond Hope Records, SubZine Records and 5 Feet Under Records.

After a handful of demos and the debut LP “Dude, You Just Ruined The Show” (2013), which allowed Vengeance Today to tour Europe extensively, the four-piece hardcore band is now delivering a amazing piece of vinyl, to be officially released on March 2nd 2015.

To work on this new record the band has joined Steffen Bajorat in the studio for recordings and Richard Schonert (guitarist in Crowns&Thieves) to mix and master the tracks.

Vengeance Today is playing three shows with Off The Hook in February, while a two weeks tour in South East Asia is in the making for March.
Other tours all over Europe are being planned for 2015, to promote Rest In Piss at its best.

Since 2008 the band has played more than 170 shows in 24 European Countries, from Portugal to Russia and many in between.

Last but not least, Vengeance Today strictly rejects racism, sexism and homophobia and support a drug free lifestyle. Three of the guys in the band are vegan, all of them live and encourage straight edge.

A TUTTI/E VOI… | TO ALL OF YOU… (english text below, scroll down)

Qualche giorno fa ci siamo trovati a parlare un po’ delle nostre vite e di questo gruppo, che di esse è sempre stato una parte molto importante.

Abbiamo parlato tanto e alla fine abbiamo preso una decisione che, per quanto sofferta, crediamo sia la più giusta da prendere in questo momento.

THE SMASHROOMS SI FERMANO, A TEMPO INDEFINITO.

Non abbiamo voluto parlare di scioglimento. Non è uno scioglimento.

Perchè questo di solito arriva quando le persone non vanno più d’accordo, le band non hanno più niente da dire o non possono portare avanti il proprio progetto.

Invece la nostra amicizia e ciò che condividiamo come gruppo e come individui sono ancora intatti. Sentiamo che il nostro messaggio, parte importantissima della nostra musica, è ancora vivo, per noi che negli anni lo abbiamo portato in giro, così come per tutte quelle persone che da esso hanno ricevuto qualcosa. Persone che ci hanno sempre dimostrato affetto, supporto disinteressato e amicizia.

Le cose che ti permettono di continuare a fare ciò che ami e ciò in cui credi sono molteplici, ma può capitare che l’energia, gli stimoli, la motivazione, possano venir meno.

Abbiamo sempre voluto dare il massimo per questo gruppo e oggi questo non ci risulta possibile.

“Il futuro non è scritto”, hanno detto. Noi crediamo che sia così. Non sappiamo cosa succederà in futuro, ma sappiamo che qualsiasi cosa faremo nelle nostre vite, cercheremo di farla al meglio delle nostre possibilità, come abbiamo sempre fatto.

Suoneremo ancora tre concerti, quelli che erano già in programma.

A few days ago we met to talk about our lives and this band, which has always been a very important part of them.

We’ve been talking a lot and we eventually took a decision, which is as painful as right to take in this moment.

THE SMASHROOMS STOP HERE, INDEFINITELY.

We didn’t want to talk about breaking up. This is not a breaking up.

Because usually bands break up when people don’t get along anymore, they have nothing left to say or just can’t keep up their project.

But our friendship and what we share as a band as well as individuals still remain intact.

We feel that our message, which is a very important part of our music, is still alive, for us as well as for those people who got something out of it during these years. People that always showed us love, disinterested support and friendship.

There are many things that make you keep up the things you love, but it can happen to run out of energy, excitement, motivation.

We always wanted to give our best for this band and this doesn’t seem to be possible today.

“The future is unwritten”, they said. We believe it is so. We don’t know what will happen in the future, but we know that whatever we’ll be doing in our lives, we’ll always try to do it at our best, just like we’ve always done.

We’ll play three more shows, which were already scheduled.
