Yesterday marked exactly TEN YEARS since I’ve decided to go vegan. Ten years without feeding myself with someone else’s suffering. It’s probably the best choice I’ve ever made. I feel great, it makes me feel good with myself and in balance with the Universe.
I can’t really tell how many animals haven’t been exploited because of my own, single, personal decision. But I’m sure that such a simple choice made a difference for some animals out there.
It’s never too late and at some point it’s the easiest thing to do, once you accept to realize what’s behind the animal food industry. At least for me, at some point the hard part was not to change my habits, not to take a stand, not to go vegan.
Once I’ve decided to take part in this cultural, environmental, ethical change, I started feeling good again. And it still feels great, when I stop for a second and realize that nobody had to suffer and die for what’s in my dish.
So here I am, ten years after. Well, this picture was taken a couple of years ago. I could have posted one of the many pictures I’ve taken with delicious vegan food before devouring it, but I chose this one because it’s about them: the animals.
Those animals in the pictures have been rescued and they now live on an Animal Sanctuary. There are many, everywhere, around the World.

Ieri erano esattamente DIECI ANNI che ho deciso di diventare vegan. Dieci anni senza nutrirmi della sofferenza di qualcun altro. È probabilmente la miglior scelta che abbia mai fatto. Mi sento alla grande, mi fa stare bene con me stesso e in equilibrio con l’Universo.
Non so dire quanti animali non siano stati sfruttati grazie alla mia singola, personale, decisione. Ma sono sicuro che una scelta così semplice abbia fatto la differenza per degli animali là fuori.
Non è mai troppo tardi e ad un certo punto è proprio la cosa più semplice da fare, una volta che si accetta di rendersi conto di ciò che si cela dietro l’industria del cibo che usa animali. Almeno per me, ad un certo punto la cosa più difficile da fare era quella di non cambiare abitudini, non prendere una posizione, non diventare vegan.
Una volta che ho deciso di prendere parte a questo cambiamento culturale, ambientale ed etico, ho iniziato di nuovo a sentirmi bene. E mi sento ancora alla grande, quando mi fermo per un secondo e mi rendo conto che nessuno ha dovuto soffrire o morire per ciò che si trova nel mio piatto.
Ed eccomi qui, dieci anni più tardi. Beh, questa foto è stata fatta un paio d’anni fa. Avrei potuto postare una delle molte foto che ho fatto con del buonissimo cibo vegan prima di divorarlo, ma ho scelto questa perchè parla di loro: gli animali.
Quegli animali nella foto sono stati salvati e ora vivono in un Santuario per Animali. Ce ne sono molti, in tutto il Mondo.
